As warnings about the coronavirus (COVID-19) continue to grow, the Northeast states are coordinating response teams with federal, state and local public health officials to ensure the states are prepared and taking necessary precautions.
Congressional negotiators have reached an $8.3 billion emergency deal to confront the coronavirus – 6 things to know about the coronavirus funding package. The Senate has approved the spending bill and the legislation is headed to the President who is expected to sign it into law.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization are monitoring the spread of the coronavirus and have the latest information on their websites.
As of this writing, there are several reported positive cases of COVID-19 in the Northeast states (two each in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island, and thirteen in New York).
